Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

Explanatory notes to heading 2707 3 paragraphs
Machine translation from Russian. The original is the EEC explanatory note, and that is what a classification dispute is argued from; the translation is for understanding and has no legal force.
2707 Oils and other products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; similar products in which the weight of the aromatic constituents exceeds that of the non-aromatic constituents: 2707 10 – Benzol 2707 20 – Toluol 2707 30 – Xylol 2707 40 – Naphthalene 2707 50 – Other aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures of which 65 % or more by volume (including losses) distils at 250 °C by the ISO 3405 method (equivalent to the ASTM D 86 method) – Other: 2707 91 – – Creosote oils 2707 99 – – Other
(1) Oils and other products of a more or less wide fractional composition, obtained by high-temperature distillation of coal tar, which form mixtures consisting mainly of aromatic hydrocarbons and other omatic compounds. These oils and other products include: - benzene, toluene, xylene and solvent-naphtha, - naphthalene oils and raw naphthalene, - anthracene oils and raw anthracene, - phenol oils (phenols, cresols, xylenols, etc.), - pyridine, quinoline and acridine bases, - creosote oils. (2) Similar oils and products with a predominance of aromatic components obtained during low-temperature distillation of coal or other mineral resin, during the "discharging" of coal (light) gas, during oil processing or any other process.
This heading covers the oils and other products listed above, raw or purified, but does not include individual compounds of a particular chemical composition obtained in pure or technically pure form by further fractional separation or other processes of processing resin oils (Chapter 29). For benzenes of ol, toluene, xylene, naphthalene, anthracene, phenol, cresols, xylenols, pyridine and certain products of aqueous pyridine, there are special criteria for their degree of purity specified in the relevant explanatory notes to headings 2902, 2907 and 2933. Wood tar oils are included in Chapter 38. This heading does not include mixed alkylbenzenes or mixed alkylnaphthal inasmuch as obtained by alkylation of benzene or naphthalene and having fairly long side chains (heading 3817).
