79 — Zinc and articles thereof

Zinc and articles thereof

Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

Notes to chapter 79 — Zinc and articles thereof 1 item

Subheading notes

Machine translation. The original is the Russian text of the EAEU tariff, and customs goes by it; this translation is for understanding only and has no legal force.

1. The terms used in this chapter mean:

(a) "non-alloyed zinc" means a metal containing at least 97.5 wt.% zinc.

(b) “zinc alloys” means metal alloys in which the mass content of zinc exceeds the mass content of each other element contained in the alloy, but the total content of all other elements is more than 2.5 % by weight.

(c) “zinc dust” means dust produced by condensation of zinc vapor and consisting of spherical particles smaller than particles of zinc powders. At least 80 wt.% of zinc dust particles pass through a sieve with cells of 63 μm (micron). Zinc dust must contain at least 85% by weight of zinc metal.
