Border crossings: Verkhny Lars running normally, Starotsurukhaytuysky on a 12-hour schedule

Verkhny Lars, the border with Georgia. The Georgian Military Road closed briefly on 13 August 2026 and traffic was restored the same day; by the morning of 14 August there were no queues and the crossing was working as usual. This is the only overland route from Russia to Georgia and on to Armenia. Starotsurukhaytuysky, the border with China. From 17 August 2026 the crossing moved to a daily schedule for a month: 09:00–21:00 local time. A consignment arriving at night waits until morning.
