Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.
Machine translation. The original is the Russian text of the EAEU tariff, and customs goes by it; this translation is for understanding only and has no legal force.

This heading covers: (1) molluscs, whether in shell or not, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried, salted or in brine; (2) smoked molluscs, whether in shell or not, whether or not cooked before or during the smoking process. The heading also covers molluscs which have only been subjected to scalding or other types of heat shock (which do not entail cooking as such) necessary to open the shell or to stabilise the mollusc before transport or freezing. The main kinds of molluscs are oysters, scallops, mussels, cuttle fish, squid, octopus, snails, clams, cockles, ark shells, abalone and conchs (stromboid). The heading also covers parts of molluscs, provided they have not undergone any processing other than that referred to in item (1) or (2) above. The heading also covers oyster spat (young oysters intended for rearing) and flours, meals and pellets of molluscs, fit or suitable for human consumption. The heading excludes molluscs prepared or preserved by processes not
40 referred to in this heading (for example, shellfish prepared in boiling water or preserved in vinegar) (heading 1605).
