1502 90 90 — Fats of bovine animals, sheep or goats (excl. for technical/industrial uses, and tallow, oleostearin and oleo-oil)
Fats of bovine animals, sheep or goats (excl. for technical/industrial uses, and tallow, oleostearin and oleo-oil)
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

1502 Fat of cattle, sheep or goats, other than the fat of heading 1503: 1502 10 – Fat ghee 1502 90 – Other
This heading covers the internal (visceral) and intramuscular fat of bovine animals, sheep or goats, the fat of bovine animals being the most valuable. This fat may be raw (fresh, chilled or frozen), salted, in brine, dried, smoked or rendered (tallow). The same rendering processes are used as for obtaining the fats of heading 1501. The heading also covers fats obtained by pressing or by extraction with solvents. Oleostock (French: premier jus) is the highest grade of edible rendered tallow. It is a solid white or yellowish product, odourless when fresh, but acquiring a characteristic rancid odour after contact with air. This fat consists almost entirely of glycerides of oleic, stearic and palmitic acids. It is used for preparing edible fats or lubricants, in the manufacture of soap or candles, in dressing leather, in the manufacture of animal feeds, etc. The heading also covers bone fat and fats obtained from waste of bovine animals, sheep or goats. The description of the corresponding fats in the Explanatory Note to heading 1501 applies fully to the fats of this heading as well. The heading excludes: (a) oleostearin, oleo-oil and tallow oil (heading 1503); (b) horse fat (heading 1506); (c) bone fat and fats obtained from waste of animals other than those mentioned in this heading (heading 1501, 1504 or 1506); (d) oils of animal origin (e.g., neat's-foot oil and bone oil of heading 1506); (e) certain vegetable fats known as vegetable tallows (e.g., "Chinese vegetable tallow" (fat from Stillingia seeds) and "Borneo tallow") (heading 1515).
