Crude wool grease
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.
This is the base rate. A tariff quota, a preference for the country of origin and a tariff exemption lower it; anti-dumping and special duties are paid on top of it
EEC Council Decision No. 80 of 14.09.2021
None: russian bans and restrictions, mandatory labelling, recycling fee, conformity assessment, export control, EAEU non-tariff regulation, trade defence measures — duty on top of the tariff, tariff quota.

The general import rate in Russia: Tax Code of Russia, Art. 164(3) (Federal Law No. 425-FZ of 28.11.2025). This code is not named on the 10% VAT list (Decree No. 908) or the exemption list (No. 1042). The list of medical goods No. 688 is not checked here.

Explanatory notes to heading 1505 3 paragraphs
Machine translation from Russian. The original is the EEC explanatory note, and that is what a classification dispute is argued from; the translation is for understanding and has no legal force.
1505 Fatty substances and fatty substances derived therefrom (including lanolin)
Fat is an adhesive fat with an unpleasant odor, extracted from soapy water in which the wool was washed or cloth was rolled. It can also be extracted from sebaceous wool using volatile solvents (sulphur dioxide, etc.). Fat does not contain glycerol esters and therefore from a chemical point of view is more wax than fat. It is used in the production of lubricants and for other industrial purposes, but is most often used as lanolin (its purified product) or for the extraction of olein or stearin. Lanolin, obtained by cleaning fat, has the consistency of the ointment; its color varies from yellow-white to brown depending on the degree of purification, it is resistant to damage in air and has a weak characteristic smell. Lanolin is perfectly soluble in boiling alcohol, but does not dissolve in water, although it can absorb large amounts of water, turning into an ointment-like emulsion known as hydrated lanolin. Anhydrous lanolin is used in the production of lubricants, emulsifying oils or in appreting. Hydrated or emulsified lanolin is used mainly in the production of ointments or in cosmetics. Partially modified lanolin, retaining the basic property of lanolin, and wool oil alcohols (also known as lanolin alcohols, mixtures of cholesterol, isocholesterol and other higher alcohols) are also included in this heading. This heading does not include alcohols of a particular chemical composition (usually Chapter 29) and preparations of lanolin with additives of medicinal or aromatic substances (heading 3003 or 3004 or Chapter 33). Also excluded are lanolins which have been chemically differentiated so that they have consumed the basic property of lanolin, e.g. lanolin, ethoxylated to such an extent that it has become water soluble (usually heading 3402).
During steam distillation and pressing, the fat-pot is divided into a dry and solid fraction and into a residue. The liquid fraction, known as fat olein, is a murky reddish-brown color with a slight smell of fat. It dissolves in alcohol, diethyl ether, gasoline, etc. It is used as a lubricant in spinning production. Solid fraction (fat sweat stearin) - a waxy substance of yellowish-brown color with a strong smell of fat, dissolves in boiling alcohol and other organic solvents. It is used in the manufacture of leather, for the preparation of lubricants or adhesive lubricants, in the production of candles or soaps. This heading does not include residues of fat (heading 1522).
