1902 30 10 — Dried, prepared pasta (excl. stuffed)
Dried, prepared pasta (excl. stuffed)
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

The pasta of this heading are products made from semolina or flours of wheat, maize, rice, potatoes or other, without the use of yeast. These semolinas or flours (or mixtures thereof) are first mixed with water and kneaded into a dough which may also incorporate other ingredients (e.g., very finely chopped vegetables, vegetable juices or purées, eggs, milk, gluten, diastase, vitamins, colouring matter, flavourings). The dough is then shaped (e.g., by extrusion and cutting, or by rolling and cutting, by pressing, moulding or agglomeration in rotating drums) into specific forms (such as tubes, strips, threads, shells, pellets, stars, granules, elbows, letters). During shaping a small quantity of vegetable oil is sometimes added. These forms often give rise to the names of the finished products (e.g., macaroni, tagliatelle, spaghetti, noodles). The products are usually dried before being marketed, to facilitate transport, storage and keeping; in this dried form they become brittle. The heading also covers undried (i.e., moist or fresh) and frozen products, for example, fresh gnocchi and frozen pelmeni. Pasta of this heading, stuffed with meat, fish, cheese or other substances in any proportion, may be cooked or otherwise prepared (e.g., prepared dishes containing other ingredients such as vegetables, sauce, meat). Cooking softens the pasta but it retains its original shape. Stuffed pasta may be entirely closed (e.g., ravioli), open at the ends (e.g., cannelloni) or in layers, such as lasagne. The heading also covers couscous, which is heat-treated semolina. Couscous of this heading may be
cooked or otherwise prepared (e.g., prepared with meat, vegetables and other ingredients in the form of a complete dish bearing the same name). The heading excludes: (a) preparations, other than stuffed pasta, containing more than 20 % by weight of sausage, meat, edible meat offal, blood, fish or crustaceans, molluscs or other aquatic invertebrates, or any combination thereof (Chapter 16); (b) soups and broths and preparations therefor, containing pasta (heading 2104).
