This heading covers fabrics (as defined in point (I) (B) of the general provisions of Section XI) of a surface density not exceeding 200 g/m2 containing 85 % or more cotton fibres by weight. Cotton fabrics are produced in a large assortment and are used in accordance with their characteristics for the manufacture of clothing, dining, toilet and kitchen linen, bedding, curtains, other decorative products, etc. This heading does not cover: (a) dressings impregnated or coated with pharmaceutical substances or packaged for retail sale (heading 3005); (b) fabrics of heading 5801; (c) terry towels and similar terry fabrics (heading 5802); (d) weaving fabrics (heading 5803); (d) fabrics for technical purposes of heading 5911.
