Gauze of silk or silk waste (excl. narrow woven fabrics of heading 5806)
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

5803 Forging fabrics other than narrow fabrics of heading 5806
Openwork fabric (sometimes known as weave fabric) is described in note 3 to this chapter. In the smooth fabric of the interlacing, the interlacing threads are directed alternately to the right and to the left of each strand, passing each time over the duck, but crossing under the stand threads; the main standing threads are always on one side of the duck, and the standing base and ducks are not interlaced, but are held together by the forging base. Variants can be obtained by crossing the transmutation threads (the so-called transmutation fabric), by inserting two or more permutation threads together through the loops formed by the stand and transmutation threads, by using two or more stand threads per one transmutation thread and vice versa, etc. This heading also includes: (1) Broche fabric, made with additional flax thread (broche thread), which is introduced during weaving to obtain the effect of drawings against the background of the weaving fabric. (2) Fabrics comprising patches of mating and other weaves in any mutual proportion. They usually have production in the form of base strips, cells or other various patterns. The weaving fabrics are usually sparse and therefore light; they are mainly used for curtains; some are processed into blue yarn by cutting them into narrow stripes in the direction of the base. The different types of weaving fabrics are very different in appearance; and the patterns obtained during weaving are also very diverse. They should not be mixed with brochet fabric or other fabrics of groups 50 to 55, handmade or machine-made lace, embroidery, tulle or other mesh fabrics of this group.
This heading does not cover rarefied fabrics of linen weaving, which are mainly used as bandages and dressings; they are often called gauze and are classified in heading 3005 (if impregnated or coated with pharmaceutical substances or packaged in forms or packages for retail sale intended for use in medicine, surgery, dentistry or veterinary medicine) or in Chapters 50 to 55. Shito fabric is also excluded from this heading (heading 5911).
