Pile fabrics, including "long pile" fabrics and terry fabrics, knitted or crocheted: looped pile fabrics: of man-made fibres

Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

6001 Pile canvases, knitted machine or hand knitting, including long-tailed canvases and terry canvases: 6001 10 – long-tail canvases – canvases with looped piles: 6001 21 – from cotton yarn 6001 22 – from chemical threads 6001 29 – from other textile materials – other: 6001 91 – from cotton yarn 6001 92 – from chemical threads 6001 99 – from other textile materials

Unlike the fabrics of heading 5801, the articles of this heading are made by knitting, and the following methods of production are mainly used: (1) A cloth is knitted on a round knitting machine, on which elongated hinges are formed with the help of an additional thread; then the hinges are cut to form a pile and obtain a velvety surface. (2) On a special basic knitting machine, two canvases with one common pile thread are knitted face to face one another; then both canvases are separated by cutting and two knitted canvases with a cut pile are obtained. (3) Textile fibers from scratch tape are introduced into the hinges of the knitted ground cloth when it is formed (long-tailed cloths). (4) Textile yarn is used to form loops (imitation of terry fabrics) (see general provisions for this group). Such canvases have rows of chain stitches on the underside and differ from the pile canvases of heading 5802 in that they are

The last from the back side along the length is a line, and a shining appearance of estimate stitches. Knitted pile fabrics of machine or hand knitting, impregnated, coated or duplicated, are classified in this heading. This heading does not cover: (a) artificial fur of heading 4304; (b) pile fabrics (heading 5801); (c) knitted or hand-knitted knitted fabrics, tufted fabrics (heading 5802).
