Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

6505 Hats and other headgear, knitted or crocheted, or made up from lace, felt or fur felt or other textile material, in the piece (but not in strips), whether or not lined or trimmed; hair-nets of any material, whether or not lined or trimmed
This heading covers hats and headgear (whether or not lined or trimmed) made directly on the knitting machine or by hand knitting (whether fulled or not), and also those made up from lace, felt or other textile material in the piece, irrespective of the stages of processing which the material of which the article is made has undergone (oiling, waxing, rubberising or other impregnation or coating). The heading also covers sewn hat-shapes, but not hat-shapes or other headgear of sewn or otherwise assembled plaits or strips (heading 6504). The heading also covers felt hats and other headgear made from the hat bodies, hoods or plateaux (felt discs) of heading 6501, including hoods that have been blocked or provided with brims. Articles are classified in this heading whether they are lined or trimmed or are not lined or trimmed. They include:
(1) Hats with or without trimming with ribbons, hat pins, buckles, artificial flowers, leaves or n buckets, feathers or other finishes of any material. Headdresses of feathers or artificial flowers are not included in this heading (heading 6506). (2) Berets, hoods, yarmulkes and similar articles. Such products are usually made directly on a knitted machine or by hand knitting and are often made (for example, berets). (3) Some Oriental headgear (such as fez). Such hats are usually made directly on a knitted machine or by hand knitting and are often made. (4) Caps of various types (shaped caps, etc.). (5) Service and church headdresses (mitres, headdresses of Catholic priests, academic caps with a flat square top, etc.). (6) Headgear made of fabrics, lace, tulle, etc., such as cook's caps, nun covers, hats for nurses and waitresses, etc., having a pronounced character of the headgear. (7) Cork or tropical helmets covered with textile material. (8) Suidwests. (9) Hoods. Removable raincoat hoods, pelerins, etc., supplied together with the clothing to which they relate, are not included in this heading and are to be classified together with the clothing of which they are a part, according to the material of which the clothing is made. (10) Cylinders and opera hats. This heading also includes hair nets and similar articles. They are made of any material, usually from tulle or other mesh knitted fabrics of machine or hand knitting or human hair.
