6807 10 — Articles of asphalt or of similar materials, e.g. petroleum bitumen or coal tar pitch, in rolls

Articles of asphalt or of similar materials, e.g. petroleum bitumen or coal tar pitch, in rolls

Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

6807 Articles of asphalt or similar materials (e.g., petroleum bitumen or coal baking): 6807 10 in rolls 6807 90 Other

This heading covers articles of natural asphalt or bitumen, coal tar pitch, petroleum bitumen, bituminous mixtures, etc. (see heading 2708, 2713, 2714 or 2715). These articles usually contain fillers such as sand, slag, chalk, gypsum, cement, talc, sulphur, asbestos and wood fibres, sawdust, cork waste and natural resins. Asphalt, bitumen, pitch, etc., presented in blocks which must be remelted before use are excluded from this heading (Chapter 27), whether or not these materials have been refined, dehydrated or mixed with other materials; on the other hand, the goods of this heading must be identifiable as specific articles. The heading includes: (1) Sheets, bricks, tiles, slabs, obtained by pressing or moulding and used for facing, surfacing, paving and roofing work. (2) Roofing sheets consisting of a base (e.g., of paperboard, of glass fibre web or woven fabric, of man-made fibres or jute, or of aluminium foil) coated wholly or on both sides with a layer of asphalt or similar material. (3) Building boards of one or more layers of textile material or paper, wholly coated with asphalt or similar material. (4) Pipes and containers, cast or moulded. Asphalt pipes and containers, coated or reinforced with metal,

are regarded as articles of metal or of asphalt depending on which of the components gives the articles their essential character. Metal pipes and containers (e.g., cast in iron or steel) coated with asphalt, bitumen, etc., are classified as articles of metal. The heading excludes: (a) paper coated or impregnated with tar or similar material, intended for use, e.g., as wrapping paper (heading 4811); (b) textile materials coated or impregnated with, e.g., bitumen or asphalt (Chapter 56 or 59); (c) articles made mainly of asbestos-cement with added asphalt (heading 6811); (d) woven fabrics or webs and the like, of glass fibres, coated or impregnated with bitumen or asphalt (heading 7019).
