7508 90 00 — Other articles of nickel: other
Other articles of nickel: other
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

(A) Anodes for galvanostegy, including anodes obtained by electrolysis This category of goods includes anodes of pure nickel for electrolytic deposition coatings. They may be cast, obtained by rolling, drawing, extrusion, or may be made of cathodes or articles of other shape obtained by electrolytic deposition, which fall in heading 7502. These anodes can be in the following forms: (1) in special shapes (in the form of stars, rings, shaped profiles) to create a maximum anode surface suitable for the coated product, and in the case of rod anodes (usually having an oval, elliptical, diamond-shaped or diamond-shaped cross-sectional shape) - a length suitable for use as an an anode; or (2) in the form of plates (flat or curved), polo with or tapes, sheets, discs (flat or wavy), hemispheres or balls. For inclusion in this heading, they must have distinctive features by which they could be classified as anodes for electroplating, that is, they must have hooks attached to them for hanging them in an electrolytic bath or have devices for fastening these hooks (for example, threaded elements, holes or protrusions). These anodes usually have a high degree of purity. Small amounts of certain impurities may, however, remain in them after the manufacturing process, or may be added specifically to ensure, for example, the depolarization of the anodes and the same reaction of the entire anode surface to the outer
effect and to avoid losses of nickel through the formation of sludge. These properties, together with the characteristics identified above, distinguish anodes for electroplating from the cast anodes for electrolytic refining described in the Explanatory Note to heading 7502, which are excluded from this heading. These traditional anodes for nickel plating are, however, increasingly being replaced by anodes in the form of baskets, e.g., nickel pellets placed in titanium baskets (see the Explanatory Note to heading 7502). The heading also excludes the following articles, whether or not intended for use in nickel electroplating or for conversion into anodes for electroplating: (a) Plates (cathodes) obtained simply by electrolysis, whether or not trimmed, or cut into strips or small rectangular pieces, but not further worked (heading 7502). (b) Unwrought pellets (heading 7502). (c) Bars obtained by casting, rolling or extrusion without particular requirements as to shape, length or working, as indicated above (heading 7502 or 7505). (d) Plates obtained simply by rolling (heading 7506). (B) OTHER This covers all articles of nickel, other than those included in the preceding category or in the preceding headings of this Chapter, or in Note 1 to Section XV, or articles falling in Chapter 82 or 83 or more specifically covered elsewhere in the Nomenclature. This includes, inter alia: (1) Structures, such as window frames, and parts of structures. (2) Reservoirs, tanks and similar containers of any capacity, not fitted with mechanical or thermal equipment. (3) Cloth, grill and netting of nickel wire, and expanded metal. (4) Nickel nails, tacks, nuts, bolts, screws and other articles of the kind described in the Explanatory Notes to headings 7317 and 7318. (5) Springs, other than clock or watch springs of all kinds of heading 9114. (6) Household and sanitary ware, and parts thereof. (7) Coin blanks in the form of nickel discs with raised rims. (8) Nickel articles corresponding to the articles of iron or steel described in the Explanatory Notes to headings 7325 and 7326.

1. The terms used in this chapter mean:
(a) “Non-alloyed nickel” means a metal containing a total of at least 99 % by weight of nickel and cobalt, provided that:
(i) the cobalt content is not more than 1.5 % by weight; and
(ii) the content of each of the other elements does not exceed the limits set out in the following table:
Other elements

Other elements (each of them)
0.3
(b) “nickel alloys” means metal alloys in which the nickel content by mass exceeds that of each of the other elements, provided that:
(i) the cobalt content is greater than 1.5 % by weight;
(ii) the mass content of at least one of the other elements must be greater than the limit value shown in the table; or
(iii) the total content of elements other than nickel and cobalt is more than 1% by weight.
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of Note 9(c) to Section XV, for the purposes of subheading 7508 (10), the term “wire” means only articles rolled up or not rolled into coves and with any shape of cross-section not exceeding 6 mm.
