Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

8475 Machines for assembling electric or electronic lamps, tubes or cathode-ray tubes or discharge lamps, in glass envelopes; machines for manufacturing or hot working glass or glassware: 8475 10 – machines for assembling electric or electronic lamps, tubes or cathode-ray tubes or discharge lamps, in glass envelopes – machines for manufacturing or hot working glass or glassware: 8475 21 – – machines for making optical fibres and preforms thereof 8475 29 – – other 8475 90 – parts

This heading covers machinery for the assembly of electric or electronic lamps, tubes or cathode ray tubes or gas discharge lamps in glass bulbs. It also includes machinery for the manufacture or

hot treatment of stacks or glass articles (other than furnaces of heading 84 17 or 8514). (I) Machines for assembly of electric or electronic lamps, tubes or electronic ray tubes or gas-discharge lamps in glass tubes This category of goods includes: (A) Machines for vacuum sealing bulbs. (B) Rotary machines for automatic assembly of incandescent lamps or radio lamps. These machines generally include equipment for heat treatment of glass (e.g. gas burners with blowing or press sealing devices for sealing glass bulbs), but remain in this heading even if they do not include such equipment for processing glass. In addition, this heading also includes equipment for the assembly of electric incandescent lamps, the constituent parts of which are connected by conveyors, and which includes glass heat treatment equipment, pumps and lamp testing devices (see note 4 to section XVI). However, this heading does not include machinery used exclusively for the manufacture of metal parts of components of lamps or cathode ray tubes (for example, for the cutting or mounting of shielding nets, anodes or support elements (heading 8462), for the manufacture of metal filaments by spiral wounding (heading 8463), and for the welding of shielding nets or electrodes (heading 8468 or 8515)). (II) Machinery for the manufacture or hot treatment of glass or glassworking products of this heading are those machines which process glass (including molten quartz and other molten silica) which has been heated to a softened or liquid state. These machines mainly use casting, pulling, rolling, crimping, blowing, modeling, molding, etc. Machines for treating glass in a solid state (even if it is slightly heated to facilitate the operation) do not fall into this heading (heading 8464). (A) Machines for the manufacture of flat sheet glass This category of goods includes: (1) Machines for the manufacture of flat glass by the ejection of flat strips. A roughly shaped sheet of glass is captured by a special device; then the sheet is captured by rollers and is pulled vertically or horizontally as it passes through the glass annealing furnace. The resulting continuous tape is cut into sheets (mechanically or with the help of hot wire heated by electric current). (2) Machines for the manufacture of float glass. When manufactured by the float process method, the glass spreads horizontally on the surface of the molten medium to obtain an infinite glass tape, which is later cut into parts during the manufacturing process. (B) Other machines for hot glass treatment include:

(1) Machines for making bottles, etc. These include a wide variety of machines, ranging from simple mechanical devices for molding and blowing (driven by dilution or compressed air and using separate shapes) to automatic feeding machines of continuous action (with two rotating plates, one of which is made for coarse casting, and the other for finishing). (2) Special machines and presses for molding various glass articles (e.g. paving stones, shingles, insulators, blanks for optical glasses and hollow glass products), but excluding general-purpose presses (heading 8479). (3) Machines for drawing, molding or blowing glass tubes or pipes, as well as special machines for drawing pipes made of quartz glass. (4) Machines for the manufacture of glass beads, in particular machines in which pieces cut from tubes are rounded, rolled in heated rotating drums. (5) Machinery for the manufacture of fiberglass or glass threads. These machines fall into the following three main categories: (i) Glass filament machines for weaving. "" These machines contain a small electric furnace that is loaded with glass balls. The bottom of the furnace is a filter, having about a hundred very small holes; the threads are oiled as they come out of these holes and are connected using a special device for the formation of a tourniquet. It is wound on a rotating drum, which ensures continuous movement of the threads forward; (ii) Fiber-making machines. . These machines are equipped with an electric furnace and a filter, such as those mentioned above, but additionally, devices are also used to supply compressed air on each side in the form of converging jets. These jets perform a dual function: pull and break the threads. The fibres fall through the sprayed oilizer on a rotating perforated drum; the suction device located inside the b araban provides the connection of the fibers and the formation of a straight line that is wound into the bobbin; (iii) Special machines for making glass padding. The molten glass is poured onto a heated rotating disc; it sticks to the disk corrugated and is pulled into the fibers by centrifugal force. (6) Machines for blowing out flasks or for making other glass parts of electric lighting lamps or tubes, or electronic lamps or tubes, etc. (e.g., base blocks, support elements for filaments, rods). (7) Machines for the manufacture of optical fiber and its blanks. Subject to the general provisions relating to the classification of parts (see the general provisions of Section XVI), parts of machinery of this heading are classified in this heading. This heading also excludes: (a) hand-made glass-blowers (heading 8205);

(b) certain machines for the manufacture of hardened glass in which ordinary sheet glass is placed between heated plates and then sharply cooled (heading 8419); (c) forms for the manufacture of glass by hand or by hand (heading 8480).

1. For the purposes of subheading 8465 20, the term ‘machining centres’ applies only to machine-tools for working wood, cork, bone, hard rubber, hard plastics or similar hard materials, which can carry out different types of machining operations by automatic tool change from a magazine or the like in conformity with a machining programme.

1. For the purposes of subheading 8482 10 900 1, the term “gross mass” means the total mass of the goods with all kinds of packaging materials and packagings ensuring their safety during storage and transport. The total weight of the goods does not include the mass of packaging materials or containers that are clearly suitable for reuse.

2. For the purposes of subheading 8415 81 001 0, the term “special production facilities” means premises in which the maintenance of precise values of temperature and humidity is due to the operational requirements of the equipment installed therein, such as machines, computers, switching equipment, surgical equipment, etc., or to the operations performed therein.

3. In subheadings 8427 20 190 1, 8427 90 000 1 and 8436 80 100 1, the date of manufacture shall be determined on the basis of the technical documentation of the manufacturer (technical passport, instruction manual) and the manufacturer's plate, which shall be fixed in a conspicuous, easily accessible place of the machinery and shall not be replaced during operation. If the manufacturer's technical documentation and the manufacturer's plate contain conflicting information about the date of manufacture or there is no information about the manufacturer of the equipment on the date of manufacture, then this technique is considered a technique, since the release of which more than 3 years have passed.

If the manufacturer's information indicates only the year of manufacture, then the date of manufacture of the equipment is considered 1 July of the year of manufacture; if the month and year of manufacture are indicated, the date of manufacture is the 15th day of the month specified in the manufacturer's information.

4. For the purpose of classification of goods in subheading 8482 10 900 1 in the states, whose territories constitute the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, when applying the term "French border of the country of importation", the country of import is understood as the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
