8712 00 — Bicycles and other cycles, incl. delivery tricycles, not motorised

Bicycles and other cycles, incl. delivery tricycles, not motorised

Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

In addition to conventional bicycles, this heading covers various special types, such as: (1) Three-wheeled delivery bicycles, usually articulated vehicles having a container (sometimes thermally insulated) mounted over the two front wheels. (2) Tandem bicycles. (3) Single and two-wheeled bicycles designed specifically for music hall artists and featuring light weight, fixed wheel, etc. (4) Two-wheeled bicycles, specially produced for disabled people (for example, with a special device that allows you to drive a bicycle with one leg). (5) Two-wheeled bicycles equipped with a support wheel mounted on the rear wheel hub. (6) Racing bicycles. (7) Four-wheeled bicycles having several seats and several pairs of pedals, the whole bicycle having a lightweight construction. (8) Pedal-driven bicycle-type scooters for children, adolescents and adults, with adjustable steering column and bicycle-type steering wheel,

This heading also excludes: (a) bicycles fitted with an auxiliary engine (heading 8711); (b) children's bicycles (other than children's two-wheeled bicycles) (heading 9503); and (c) special bicycles intended only for use on rides (heading 9508).

Notes

English text as published in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2021/1832 (Combined Nomenclature). The EAEU tariff and the EU nomenclature copy these notes from the same convention. For a Russian declaration the binding version is the Russian one: Annex to Decision No 80 of the EEC Council of 14 September 2021.

Machines and working tools designed for fitting to tractors of heading 8701 as interchangeable equipment remain classified in their respective headings even if presented with the tractor, and whether or not mounted on it.

3. Motor chassis fitted with cabs fall in headings 8702 to 8704, and not in heading 8706.

4. Heading 8712 includes all children's bicycles. Other children's cycles fall in heading 9503.
