Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

9307 Swords, sabres, rapiers, broadswords, bayonets, lances and similar arms, parts thereof, and scabbards and sheaths therefor

This heading covers such weapons as swords, sabres, rapiers (including sword-sticks), broadswords, bayonets, lances, pikes, halberds, paratroopers' knives, dirks, stilettos and daggers. Their blades are generally of high quality steel and in some cases there is a more or less elaborate guard or hilt. These weapons are included in this heading even if used for ceremonial or decorative purposes or as theatrical props. In most cases the blade is fixed in the weapon, but some daggers and stilettos may have a movable blade which in the normal position is retracted into the handle. The blade may be extended and locked manually or by a spring mechanism. The heading also covers parts of side-arms, e.g., sabre blades (including blanks thereof, even if only in the forged state), hilts, guards, handles, and scabbards and sheaths for swords, bayonets, daggers, etc. The heading excludes: (a) belts and similar articles for carrying swords, bayonets, etc., of leather (heading 4203) or of textile materials (heading 6217); sword knots (generally heading 4205 or 6307); (b) hunting knives, camping knives and other knives which are cutlery (heading 8211), or sheaths for such knives (generally heading 4202); (c) scabbards and cases of precious metal or of metal clad with precious metal (heading 7115); (d) fencing foils (heading 9506).
