7608 10 00 — Aluminium tubes and pipes: of aluminium, not alloyed
Aluminium tubes and pipes: of aluminium, not alloyed
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

7608 Aluminum pipes and tubes: 7608 10 - of non-alloy aluminum 7608 20 - of aluminum alloys
The definition of “pipes and tubes” is given in note 1 (e) to this chapter. The pipes and tubes of this heading may be made as follows: (a) by extrusion of hollow castings or stitched round bars; (b) by welding with a longitudinal or spiral seam of a coiled flat workpiece (strip or sheet); (c) by pressing with shock extrusion; (d) by casting. Pressed or welded pipes can be subjected to cold drag to obtain pipes with a thinner wall, more accurate dimensions and better surface quality. Pipes and tubes falling into this heading are used in many fields, for example as pipelines for oil or water, as protective shells for electrical wiring, in furniture production, heat exchangers, structures. This heading covers pipes and tubes, whether or not they are threaded at the ends, connected with couplings, flanges, bushings, rings, etc. or not. This heading does not cover: (a) hollow profiles (heading 7604); (b) fittings for pipes or tubes (heading 7609); (c) flexible piping (heading 8307); (d) pipes and tubes made in the form of specific identifiers of articles to be used in constructions (heading 7610), parts of machinery or vehicles (sections XVI and XVII), etc.

1. The terms used in this chapter mean:
(a) "non-alloy aluminum" means a metal containing at least 99 % by weight of aluminium, provided that the mass content of each of the other elements does not exceed the limits specified in the following table:
Other elements
Element
Maximum content, wt.%
Fe+Si
(iron plus silicon)
1.0
Other elements (each of them)
0.1
Other elements include, for example, Cr, Cu, Mg, Mn, Ni, Zn.
Copper content is allowed in quantities greater than 0.1 wt.%, but not more than 0.2 wt.%, provided that the content of chromium or manganese is not more than 0.05 wt.%.
(b) "aluminum alloys" means metal alloys in which the aluminium content by mass exceeds that of each of the other elements contained in the alloy, provided that:
(i) the mass content of at least one of the other elements or iron and silicon taken together will exceed the mass limit indicated in the table; or
(ii) the total content of other elements is more than 1% by weight.
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of note 9 (c) to section XV, for the purposes of subheading 7616 91, the term “wire” means only articles rolled up or not rolled into coves and with any shape of cross-section not exceeding 6 mm.

1. In subheading 7601 20 200, the following terms mean:
- "slabs" - raw products having a continuous cross-section throughout the length in the form of rectangles or other polygons, with a width of more than 800 mm, a thickness of more than 280 mm and a length always exceeding the width and thickness. These products are intended for rolling;
- "tickets" - raw products having a continuous cross-section in the form of circles (including "flattened circles"), with a diameter of more than 125 mm. These products are designed for extruding.

1. For the purposes of subheading 7606 12 200 2, the term “multilayer panels” means a flat, multilayered material consisting of two outer aluminium sheets coated and one or more layers of filler forming an inner layer or core.
