7616 99 10 — Articles of aluminium, cast, n.e.s.
Articles of aluminium, cast, n.e.s.
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

This heading covers all articles of aluminium other than those falling in the preceding headings of this Chapter, or described in Note 1 to Section XV, or articles specified or included in Chapter 82 or 83, or articles more specifically covered elsewhere in the Nomenclature. The heading includes, in particular: (1) Nails, tacks, staples (other than those of heading 83 05), screws, bolts, nuts, screw hooks, rivets, cotters, cotter-pins, washers and similar articles described in the Explanatory Notes to headings 7317 and 7318. (2) Knitting needles, bodkins, crochet hooks, embroidery stilettos, safety pins, other pins and other articles described in the Explanatory Note to heading 7319. (3) Chains and parts thereof, of aluminium. (4) Cloth, grill and netting of aluminium wire, and expanded metal (see the Explanatory Note to heading 73 14). Expanded metal is used in shop windows
stores, loudspeaker grilles, explosion suppression during the transport and storage of volatile liquids and gases, etc. (5) Aluminium articles similar to those of ferrous metals described in the Explanatory Notes to headings 7325 and 7326. This heading does not cover: (a) metal thread fabric used in clothing, as furniture fabric or for similar purposes (heading 5809); (b) wire fabric, etc., in the form of machine parts (e.g., in conjunction with other materials) (Chapter 84 or 85); (c) wire fabric, etc., used in hand sieves or gratings (heading 9604).

1. The terms used in this chapter mean:
(a) "non-alloy aluminum" means a metal containing at least 99 % by weight of aluminium, provided that the mass content of each of the other elements does not exceed the limits specified in the following table:
Other elements
Element
Maximum content, wt.%
Fe+Si
(iron plus silicon)
1.0
Other elements (each of them)
0.1
Other elements include, for example, Cr, Cu, Mg, Mn, Ni, Zn.
Copper content is allowed in quantities greater than 0.1 wt.%, but not more than 0.2 wt.%, provided that the content of chromium or manganese is not more than 0.05 wt.%.
(b) "aluminum alloys" means metal alloys in which the aluminium content by mass exceeds that of each of the other elements contained in the alloy, provided that:
(i) the mass content of at least one of the other elements or iron and silicon taken together will exceed the mass limit indicated in the table; or
(ii) the total content of other elements is more than 1% by weight.
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of note 9 (c) to section XV, for the purposes of subheading 7616 91, the term “wire” means only articles rolled up or not rolled into coves and with any shape of cross-section not exceeding 6 mm.

- "slabs" - raw products having a continuous cross-section throughout the length in the form of rectangles or other polygons, with a width of more than 800 mm, a thickness of more than 280 mm and a length always exceeding the width and thickness. These products are intended for rolling;
- "tickets" - raw products having a continuous cross-section in the form of circles (including "flattened circles"), with a diameter of more than 125 mm. These products are designed for extruding.
