Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

8302 Base metal mountings, fittings and similar articles suitable for furniture, doors, staircases, windows, blinds, vehicle interiors, saddlery, trunks, chests, caskets or the like; base metal hat-racks, hat-pegs, brackets and similar articles; castors with mountings, of base metal; automatic door closers of base metal: 8302 10 – hinges 8302 20 – castors 8302 30 – mountings, fittings and similar articles for motor vehicles, other – other mountings, fittings and similar articles: 8302 41 – – suitable for buildings 8302 42 – – other, suitable for furniture 8302 49 – – other 8302 50 – hat-racks, hat-pegs, brackets and similar articles 8302 60 – automatic door closers

This heading covers general purpose classes of base metal accessory fittings and mountings, such as are used largely on furniture, doors, windows, coachwork, etc. Goods within such general classes remain in this heading even if they are designed for particular uses (e.g., door handles or hinges for motor cars). The heading does not, however, extend to goods forming an essential part of the structure of the article, such as window frames or swivel devices for revolving chairs. The heading covers: (A) Hinges of all kinds (e.g., butt hinges, lift-off hinges, angle hinges, strap hinges and hinge pulleys). (B) Castors as defined in Note 2 to this Chapter. To fall in this heading castors must have mountings of base metal, but the wheels may be of any material (other than precious metal). Where castors are fitted with pneumatic tyres, the diameter of the castor is measured with the tyre inflated to normal pressure. The classification of castors in this heading is not affected by the presence of spokes on them. Castors not complying with the definitions in the heading text or in Note 2 to this Chapter are excluded (e.g., Chapter 87). (C) Mountings, fittings and similar articles for motor vehicles (e.g., for motor cars, lorries or motor coaches), not being parts or accessories of Section XVII. For example: made-up ornamental beadings and trim strips; foot rests; grip bars, rails and handles; blind fittings (rods, brackets, fixing fittings, spring mechanisms, etc.); interior luggage racks; window opening mechanisms; specialised ash trays; tail-board fasteners. (D) Mountings, fittings and similar articles for buildings. This category includes: (1) Door guards with chain, bar, etc.; espagnolette or cremorne bolts and fittings therefor; window catches and stays; fanlight or skylight openers, stays and fittings; cabin hooks and eyes; hooks and fittings for double windows; hooks, catches, stops, brackets and end rollers for louvres or blinds; letter box plates; door knockers, spy-holes, etc. (other than those fitted with optical elements). (2) Catches (including ball-spring catches), bolts, fasteners, latches, etc. (other than key-operated bolts, which fall in heading 8301), for doors. (3) Fittings for sliding doors or windows of shops, garages, sheds, hangars, etc. (e.g., channels and guides, runners and rollers). (4) Keyhole escutcheons and lock-plates for doors in buildings. (5) Fittings for curtains, blinds or portières (e.g., rods, tubes, connecting sleeves, brackets, tie-backs, hooks with cords, clips, sliding or runner rings, stops); cleat hooks, guides and knot holders for blind cords, etc.; staircase fittings such as protective

devices for ladder steps; clamps for ladder carpets, stair bars, stairwells of ladder railings. Stacks, tubes and rods suitable for use as rods for curtains or stair rods, etc., only cut in length and drilled, are classified according to their constituent metal. (6) Corner mounts, fastening plates, ugo bows, etc. for doors, windows or blinds. (7) Bottles and brackets for doors; handles and pads for doors, including lock handles or latches. (8) Door locks and door closing devices (other than those relating to paragraph (D) below). (D) Fixtures, fittings and similar products for furniture. This category of goods includes: (1) Protective bandages (with one branch or more) for furniture legs, etc.; metal decorative fittings; adjustment devices for shelves of bookcases, etc. ; fittings for buffets, bed frames, etc.; keyhole plates. (2) Corner bundles, reinforcing plates, corners, etc. (3) Latches (including ball-spring latches), bolts, valves, latches, etc. (other than key-opening bolts, which fall in heading 8301). (4) Bottles and brackets for boxes, etc. (5) Pens and ball-shaped handles, including lock pens or lapels. (E) (1) Furnishings and similar articles for road chests, boxes, suitcases or similar road accessories, e.g., guides for lid devices (excluding valves); handles; safety corners; racks and runners for lids; rods for covering wicker trunks of road; fittings for folding suitcases; however, jewelry for handbags of ladies or men are of heading 7117. (2) Corner bundles, reinforcing plates, corners, etc. for boxes, road chests, caskets, boxes, suitcases, etc. (3) Furniture and similar products for the shoring business, such as rods, belts, saddle bows, stirrups; rings for edges, harnesses and reins; copper parts and other fittings for harnesses. (4) Equipment and similar articles for caskets or coffins. (5) Rebar and similar articles for ships (ships and boats). (G) Hat brackets, hat hangers, consoles (fixed, hinged or jagged, etc.) and similar products such as coat hangers, towels, kitchen rags, brushes, keys. Coat hangers, etc., having the characteristics of furniture items, such as coat hangers with a shelf, are considered in Chapter 94. Automatic devices for closing doors, spring or hydraulic type, for doors, gates, etc.
