9610 00 00 — Slates and boards, with writing or drawing surfaces, whether or not framed
Slates and boards, with writing or drawing surfaces, whether or not framed
Names come in English where the EU Combined Nomenclature publishes them — chapters, headings and subheadings, whose first six digits are the same Harmonized System; deeper EAEU detail is a machine translation, marked as such. Official texts — tariff notes, measures, lists and classification rulings — are the original: customs and your broker go by that wording. Where we show a machine translation of them, it is marked; where our quality check rejected one, the Russian stays.

9610 Griffle boards for writing or drawing, in or without frames
This heading covers slates and boards clearly intended for writing or drawing on with slate pencils, chalks, felt-tipped or fibre-tipped markers (e.g., children's school slates, blackboards and certain notice boards). These articles, whether or not framed, may consist of slate, including agglomerated slate, or of any material (wood, paperboard, textile material, asbestos-cement, etc.) coated on one or both sides with a preparation of powdered slate or any other coating suitable for writing on, or covered with a plastic sheeting. The boards may bear permanent markings (lines, squares, lists of goods, etc.) and may incorporate abacus frames. The heading excludes writing or drawing slates not ready for use (heading 2514 or 6803).
